The article present a case study of a 75 year old woman who presented to physicians with gradually progressive breathlessness and pedal edema and associated orthopnea and paroxysmal nocturnal dyspnea. A discussion of diagnostic testing which was conducted on the woman, and resulted in her receiving a diagnosis of primary amyloidosis presenting as full-blown cardiac failure and classical cutaneous manifestations, is presented. |
