In den letzten beiden Jahrzehnten lässt sich eine zunehmend breitere Akzeptanz der Aussonderung im wissenschaftlichen Bibliothekswesen beobachten. Aussonderung wird in neueren Handbüchern zum Bibliotheksmanagement inzwischen als integraler Bestandteil des Bestandsmanagements in wissenschaftlichen Bibliotheken vermittelt. Der Artikel gibt im ersten Teil einen Überblick über die Praxis der Aussonderung in Zahlen. Im zweiten Teil werden die rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen, insbesondere die Aussonderungsrichtlinien der Länder, in den Fokus genommen. During the last two decades, one could observe an increasingly broader acceptance of selection in the scientific library system. In the meantime, the latest library management handbooks teach selection as an integral part of collection management in scientific libraries. This report gives an overview of the selection practice in figures in its first part. The second part focusses on the legal framework, especially on the selection guidelines of the federal states.
