مستخلص: New research from the University of Pennsylvania provides new insights into the role of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin-1 (IL-1) in controlling Yersinia infection in the intestines. The study found that TNF signaling in monocytes is necessary for containing the bacteria, and that monocyte-derived IL-1 signals to non-hematopoietic cells to enable control of the infection. This collaborative inflammatory circuit restricts intestinal Yersinia infection. The findings contribute to a better understanding of the immune response to Yersinia and may have implications for the development of new treatments. [Extracted from the article]
