مستخلص: The technique of patch-clamp recording in brain slices is applicable to a large variety of cell types in slices from nearly all areas of the central nervous system (CNS) in animals at many different stages of development (Blanton et al., 1989; Edwards et al., 1989; Konnerth, 1990). To date, the technique has been successfully applied in a number of areas of the CNS, including the hippocampus, cerebellum, striatum, brain stem, corpus callosum, hypothalamus, frontal and visual cortex, medial septum, olfactory bulb, retina, and spinal cord. In addition, the technique has been applied to other tissues, including the pituitary gland and cardiac muscle. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
