The article presents ways to manage patients with implanted cardiac electronic devices. The author says knowing whether the dental patient has a pacemaker or a defibrillator is the most important thing to know when a patient with a history of implanted cardiac electronic devices (ICEDs) are visiting the dental office. He adds it is also important to know the nature of the device, evidence of discharge and ability to carry out physical activities. |
