مستخلص: Transient laser-induced grating experiments are performed to determine the diffusion constant and the lifetime of excitonic polaritons in high-quality ZnSe layers at low temperatures for the first time. Both the diffusion coefficient and the lifetime decrease with decreasing layer thickness from 22 to 116 nm. This dependence on the sample geometry is explained in terms of diffusive polariton transport. At low temperatures the motion is governed by the interaction with impurities, while at higher temperatures the interaction with acoustical phonons dominates the transport characteristics.
