We describe the first two dustywing species (Neuroptera: Coniopterygidae) from the Miocene Zhangpu amber. One of them is confirmed to be a new species of the genus HeteroconisEnderlein, 1905(Aleuropteryginae), namely Heteroconis zhangpuensisn. sp., while the other belongs to the genus ConiopteryxCurtis, 1834 (Coniopteryginae) but could not be identified to species. The new Heteroconisspecies resembles some extant congeners from China and Thailand. These East Asian Miocene dustywings provide valuable palaeontological evidence for understanding the evolution of Coniopterygidae as well as the history of the diversification of the Asian lacewings. |
