| الوصف: | Trabajo fin de grado en Enfermería Introducción: el delirium o confusión aguda es un problema muy extendido que genera consecuencias devastadoras y merma con creces la calidad de vida de los pacientes críticamente enfermos ingresados en una unidad de cuidados intensivos (UCI). Desde la Enfermería, es importante el conocimiento profundo y el desarrollo de actitudes que permitan identificar y prever los factores de riesgo y precipitantes para evitar su aparición y procurar un tratamiento precoz. Objetivo: explorar las intervenciones autónomas e interdisciplinares de Enfermería en el manejo de la Confusión Aguda en pacientes adultos ingresados en UCI. Metodología: se ha realizado una revisión narrativa en las bases de datos PubMed, CINHAL, LILACS y Cochrane utilizando lenguaje controlado. Resultados: la evidencia muestra beneficios positivos con la utilización de las Guías y Protocolos para el control y el abordaje del dolor, agitación y delirium, en lo que respecta a la disminución de la incidencia, la duración y gravedad del mismo, la estancia en UCI, el tiempo sin VM y la disfuncionalidad corporal. Conclusiones: se ha de potenciar el rol de Enfermería desde su privilegiada posición a pie de cama, centrando el cuidado en el paciente y la familia, evitando la aparición del delirio. Introduction: delirium or acute confusion is a widespread problem that generates devastating consequences and reduces the quality of life in critical patients hospitalized in a Critical Care Unit (ICU). It is important for nurses to consolidate a deep knowledge and to develop attitudes that allow to identify and to anticipate the risk factors and precipitants to avoid their appearance and to seek an early treatment. Objective: exploring the autonomous and interdisciplinary nursing interventions in the management of Acute Confusion in adult patients admitted to the ICU. Methodology: a narrative review was carried out in the following database PubMed, CINHAL, LILACS and Cochrane using a controlled language. Results: the evidence shows positive benefits with the use of the Guidelines and Protocols for the control and management of pain, agitation and delirium, in relation to the decrease in the incidence of delirium, duration and severity of the stay in ICU, time without MV an the body dysfunction. Conclusions: nursing role should be enhanced from its privileged position at bedside, focusing care on the patient and the family, avoiding the onset of delirium. |
