الوصف: Arsenic removal from groundwater by help of micro- (pore size of 1 µm) and ultrafiltration (pore size of 0,04 µm) was evaluated and compared with sand filtration. The dead-end filtration enabled to compare MF/UF with conventional sand filter. The results indicate that none of membrane processes were able to remove efficiently As(III); contrary, that was possible with help of sand filtration. However the presented methodology helps in evaluating membrane filtration performance in order to find Fe dose. The results indicate that Fe dose have to be raised with higher As(III) and NOM content, which were found to be responsible for hindering total As removal with help of iron precipitates. Moreover the presence of NOM increased the fouling potential, which shall also be considered in the full scale treatment with use of membrane filtration.
