A program using a fleet of fuel cell scooters to promote clean energy was run successfully in Taiwan. A total of 110 hydrogen fuel cell scooters have been on the road since 2011. The first phase consisted of 30 fuel cell scooters (27 in Taipei, and the other three in Changhua) which accumulated a total mileage of 122,769 kilometers by May 2012. The second phase consisted of 80 fuel cell scooters used in Pingtung, in the Kenting area around hotels and schools from 2012‐13. The low‐pressure hydrogen canisters were easily replaced at a convenience store and gas station. The project was monitored by an operation management system. This project was the first to run and collect data from fuel cell scooters on the road. It was an opportunity for tourists and local residents to become familiar with clean energy transport in the form of fuel cell scooters.
