This paper proposes a new multiple-input dc-dc converter (MIC) with a soft-switching edge-resonant topology. The proposed soft-switching multiple-input converter can reduce power losses by adopting a soft-switching edge-resonant topology. This topology can achieve zero-voltage switching (ZVS) and zero-current switching (ZCS). The zero-voltage switching (ZVS) is achieved during switches turn-off intervals, and the zero-current switching (ZCS) is achieved during turn-on intervals of switches. In addition, the new multiple-input soft-switching converter is able to step-up and step-down an input voltage. This softswitching multiple-input converter was verified by simulation results.
