The main goal of this paper is to determine the beam (direct) solar radiation tracking efficiency of different types of tracking systems, derived from the pseudo-equatorial ones, for specific geographical and meteorological conditions, in the particular location of Braov, Romania. As a first step, the incident beam radiation was modeled for the specific location then the best suitable bi-axial and mono-axial tracking systems were chosen for which the tracking efficiencies were determined. The results presented in this paper are mainly relevant to the local community when installing photovoltaic systems becomes a local priority and might be of use when it is necessary to choose between bi-axial, mono-axial or fixed tracking systems at a specific geographical site.
