This project investigates the extent to which people in the United States participate in mutual aid to mitigate challenges in healthcare and personal finance. This includes analysis of individual motivations for choosing need-based transfer strategies (e.g., healthcare sharing ministries) over debt-based transfer strategies (e.g., health insurance).
