Communication link budget is a balance sheet of all gains and losses, where the calculation of link parameters such as received power, path losses, noise power, signal to noise ratio, receiver figure of merit and link margin. There are software available in the market, which can be utilized to design, but are not cost friendly and also have limitations in the form of some predefined data values, which the user cannot alter. In this paper the authors propose a new testbed which is designed to formulate the link budget calculations using Python GUI for space communications link, considering all theoretical parameters needed for computations. |
