الوصف: In the system RbCl–MgCl 2 various compounds like RbMgCl 3 , Rb 3 MgCl 5 , Rb 3 Mg 2 Cl 7 and Rb 2 Mg 2 Cl 4 are known. Eu 2+ activated RbCl⋅MgCl 2 and 2 RbCl⋅MgCl 2 prepared by simple solution processing are reported. Strong, blue emission with colour coordinates 0.15, 0.028 is observed. The excitation spectrum spans entire near UV region. A partial energy transfer from Eu 2+ → Mn 2+ is also demonstrated. It is suggested that this emission can be used for solid state lighting using near UV chip.
