SUMMARY Dramatic refinements in CT technology are resulting in improved evaluation of the liver, pancreas, and gastrointestinal tract. Further clinical trials are necessary to compare the relative merits of CT versus MR imaging and endoscopic ultrasonography in a wide variety of gastrointestinal diseases.
