الوصف: Session LOCATION: George's (3rd floor of Johnson Center) Abstract: In order to teach the whole student, we need to understand how each of our students may draw on multiple facets of his/her/their identity while studying at Mason. This session gives participants options to explore the ways that particular student identities affect their learning, and to consider how those identities may intersect to build a student's perspective or influence a group of students. After a brief opening discussion of general concepts of student identity, participants will be invited to select two break-out groups to join for interactive and practical conversations about supporting Mason students (see list below; two breakout sessions will last 25 minutes each). Closing discussions will focus on helping participants draw connections among the strategies they’ve learned to create an action plan for engaging with and supporting students from a diverse range of backgrounds.
