الوصف: The relaxation of thin aluminized polyethylene terephthalate (PET) films was investigated by means of the thermally stimulated polarization current method with the aim of evidencing structural modifications occurring during thermal treatment carried out under various conditions. The occurrence of a marked change in the charge exchange properties of the Al‐PET interfaces upon annealing, previously advocated from thermally stimulated depolarization current measurements, has been confirmed. Molecular orientation and free‐volume relaxation are shown to be determining factors governing the polarization processes in thin PET films.
