الوصف: This study overviews the emerging field of digital migration studies and conceptualizes time, temporality, and temporariness within the migration and media field. Based on a quasi-ethnographic research of 36 Korean visa-status migrants, the chapter investigates how media shape national and daily temporality in transnational lives, how life course approach applies to different migration stages and media practices, and how temporary migrants experience “contingent” and “indentured” temporality during the “staggered” migration process. In doing this, the study argues that migration decision-making is a complex process which includes not only economic, political, demographic, and environmental features but also temporal factors. Moreover, transient migrants’ daily lives were often disrupted and restructured by constant juggling of the biographic timescale across the dynamic institutional timescale.
