W niniejszym artykule dokonano analizy sposobu, w jaki telewizyjne programy informacyjne relacjonowały protesty społeczne będące następstwem orzeczenia Trybunału Konstytucyjnego. Dotyczyło ono niezgodności zapisów ustawy z dnia 7 stycznia 1993 r. o planowaniu rodziny, ochronie płodu ludzkiego i warunkach dopuszczalności przerywania ciąży (zezwalających na aborcję w przypadku wystąpienia przesłanki embriopatologicznej) z Konstytucją Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej. Postawiona została hipoteza, według której sposób relacjonowania protestów społecznych zależy od stronniczości politycznej danej stacji telewizyjnej, co odzwierciedlone zostaje przez wykreowaną narrację wokół omawianych wydarzeń. Badanie przeprowadzono na próbie wybranych audycji informacyjnych – "Faktów" TVN, "Wiadomości" TVP 1 oraz "Wydarzeń" Polsatu, które dotyczyły wydarzeń mających miejsce od dnia wydania powyższego wyroku do jednej z największych demonstracji w Polsce – "Marszu na Warszawę". Analizę przeprowadzono za pomocą metod ilościowej i jakościowej przy pomocy klucza kategoryzacyjnego, dobierając kryteria dotyczące m.in. czasu poświęconego na omówienie protestów społecznych oraz wydanego orzeczenia, prezentacji wypowiedzi poszczególnych stron konfliktu oraz narracji skonstruowanej wokół omawianych wydarzeń. In this paper, the authors analyze the ways in which television news programs reported on the social protests following the sentence of the Constitutional Tribunal that concerned the non-compliance of the provisions of the Act of 7th January 1993 on Family Planning, Protection of the Human Fetus, and Conditions for the Admissibility of Termination of Pregnancy (allowing abortion in the event of an embryopathological condition) with the Constitution of the Republic of Poland. The authors verified the hypothesis according to which the manner of reporting social protests depends on the political bias of a given television station, which is reflected in the narrative created around the discussed events. The study was conducted on a sample of selected news programs from TVN’s "Fakty", TVP1’s "Wiadomości", and Polsat’s "Wydarzenia" which were related to the events that took place from the date of the pronouncement of the abovementioned sentence to the date of one of the largest demonstrations in Polish history – "The March towards Warsaw". The analysis was carried out using quantitative and qualitative methods with a categorization key, and based on such criteria as the time devoted to discussing the social protests and the sentence, presenting the statements of the various parties to the conflict, and the narration about the discussed events.
