Glass fiber reinforced polyamide 6.6 (PA66) has a high service temperature as well as good chemical resistance. Because of its low raw material price, it is a common engineering material for under the hood applications involving coolants. In order to keep up with the developments in the automotive sector, the material has to be improved as well. In the field of polymer synthesis, fiber sizing and additives, there is a high potential for further developments of new materials with the aim of a high material efficiency. This will only be successful, if the complete system is taken into account. The influencing coefficients, such as the PA66 type, the fiber sizing or the additives, will be discussed in this study. The main influencing factors will be evaluated. Based on this study, the main factor is the fiber sizing, while the different additive masterbatches or PA66 types have minor influences.
