الوصف: International audience; Circulating tumour cells (CTC) constitute a real revolution in the field of oncology and have recently been studied prospectively for the first time in head and neck cancer by the Montpellier university hospital and Montpellier cancer institute teams. This French multicentre study, funded by the French national institute of cancer (INCA, ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT02119559), showed that a simple blood test at the very beginning of treatment can predict whether or not chemotherapy is going to be effective.
