| الوصف: | espanolEl presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar e interpretar las labores de mecenazgo artistico y patronazgo religioso del duque de Lerma en el Reino de Valencia. Por una parte, se reflexiona sobre como sus relaciones con la ciudad de Valencia pudieron influir en sus intereses artisticos y sobre la manera en que “lo valencianoˮ estaba presente en sus colecciones personales. En este sentido, se estudian sus vinculos con los virreyes que le precedieron y sucedieron en el virreinato valenciano -como fueron el marques de Aitona, el conde de Benavente, el patriarca Ribera o el marques de Caracena- y la forma en la que favorecio la religiosidad popular valenciana de su tiempo. Por otra, se aporta nueva documentacion sobre las obras arquitectonicas patrocinadas por el duque en Denia para alojar al rey Felipe III y sobre la fundacion de dos conventos en esta misma ciudad. Por ultimo, se dan a conocer nuevas noticias acerca del origen y desaparicion de su estatua marmorea en el castillo de Denia. EnglishThe aim of this study is to analyze and interpret the artistic and religious patronage of the Duke of Lerma in the Kingdom of Valencia. On the one hand, it explains how his relations with the city of Valencia could influence his artistic interests and how “lo valencianoˮ was present in his private collections. In this sense, it studies his links with the viceroys who preceded and succeeded him in the Valencian viceroyalty -such as the Marquis of Aitona, the Count of Benavente, the Patriarch Ribera and the Marquis of Caracena- and the way he favoured the Valencian popular religiosity of his time. On the other hand, new documentation is provided on the architectural works sponsored by the Duke to house the King Philip III in Denia and on the foundation of two convents in the same city. Finally, new archival documents are released about the origin and disappearance of his marble statue in the castle of Denia. |
