الوصف: Individuals acquire the values first in the family and then at schools. Of them the second one is very significant, and cartoons have a significant role in the acquision of values at schools. Because cartoon characters may provide a model for children to acquire the values. The aim of this stidy is to analyse the effects of cartoons, namely Piril, Canim Kardesim, Kare, Kukuli, Elif’in Dusleri and Maceraci Yuzgecler, in regard to the value acquisition. The data of the study were collected using the document analysis which is part of the qualitative research methods. The data collected were examined through the decsriptive analysis. The findings of the study indicate that the educational program for the pre-school education contains twenty-seven covert values. These are as follows: responsibility, love, respect, cooperation, help, solidarity, sharing, tolerance, knowing and protecting the rights, empathy, freedom, greeting, self-confidence, self-respect, self-control, keeping culture alive, patriotism, giving importance to family unity, health, aesthetics, cleanliness, being scientific, saving, environmental awareness, courage, obeying the rules and courtesy. Then these values were analysed in thirty episodes of six cartoons and found that there are twenty-four values which are also contained in the educational program. In the cartoons the most frequent values are as follows: love, cooperation, courtesy, being scientific and being helpful. Those values that are less mentioned in the cartoons are aesthetics, empathy, knowing and protecting the rights, saving, self-control, courage and following the rules. The values that exist in the educational program, but not in the cartoons are as follows: self-respect, freedom and patriotism.
