Дана оценка точности и объективности учета населения СССР и РСФСР. The article discusses the features of conducting General population censuses in 1926–1989. A combination of traditions and innovations in the census business is shown. The accuracy and objectivity of accounting of the population of the USSR and RSFSR are assessed.
