The subject of the publication is a description of a cadaver, which turns out to be still alive. The author finds examples of such a state of affairs in the poetic works of Jarosław Marek Rymkiewicz. The corpse of the poet is analyzed as well. It turns out that in the case of the deceased, it is possible to speak not only about their biography, but also — using the terminology of Stanisław Rosiek — the beginning of a necrography, that is the corpse’s life. The context for Rymkiewicz’s poems on this issue is romantic poetry first and foremost. The goal of this article is an attempt to study the process of bringing the cadaver back to life. Among various histories of corpses in the publication, one can find descriptions of the fate of characters from the works of Adam Mickiewicz.
