الوصف: Mice lacking the cohesin subunit SA1 reveal a non-redundant chromosome segregation role independent of centromeric cohesion maintenance. In contrast to the paralog SA2, whose inactivation in cancers promotes aneuploidy via bona fide cohesion defects, SA1-mediated cohesion is required for accurate telomere replication and stabilization.
