| الوصف: | Con questo studio di caso intendiamo contribuire alla ricerca sull’acquisizione dell’articolo in italiano L2 osservando come giovani apprendenti sinofoni con livelli diversi di competenza gestiscono le categorie di definitezza e indefinitezza nella lingua bersaglio. I risultati dell’analisi, condotta su produzioni orali elicitate mediante una storia per immagini, hanno in parte confermato quanto emerso in studi precedenti. Da un lato, infatti, si è confermata la difficoltà, soprattutto nelle fasi iniziali, di gestire l’espressione della definitezza mediante l’articolo; dall’altro si è osservata una tendenza piuttosto marcata a sostituire il determinativo con il dimostrativo. Quest’ultima tendenza potrebbe riflettere un transfer dalla L1, dal momento che il dimostrativo risulta essere il candidato favorito ad assumere il ruolo di marca di definitezza nel processo di grammaticalizzazione di questa categoria in corso nel cinese moderno standard. Acquisition and use of the Italian article by sinophones: a case study on the expression of definiteness This case study aims to contribute to the research on the acquisition of articles in L2 Italian. More specifically, we observe how young Chinese-speaking learners with different levels of competence deal with definiteness and indefiniteness in the target language. Data for analysis was elicited by means of a picture story. Our findings partly confirmed the results of previous studies. On the one hand, it was confirmed that learners, particularly at earlier stages, have difficulty in expressing definiteness through articles. On the other hand, a tendency to use demonstratives instead of definite articles was observed. This could be an effect of transfer from L1, where the demonstrative appears to be the favorite candidate for the role of definiteness marker in the process of grammaticalization of this category in modern standard Chinese. |
