| الوصف: | Mexican adolescents’ perception of parental practices and anxiety. Anxiety disorder prevalence among adolescents has increased in recent years in Mexico. Identifying associated factors to this problem is crucial for prevention, early detection and treatment. The objective was to analyze the relationship between adolescent perception of parental practices and trait-state anxiety. Participants were students attending public high schools in Mexico City (n = 809), between 15 to 20 years old, 434 were women (56.6%). The Adolescent Parental Practice Scale (PP) and The Trait-State Anxiety (A) Inventory were applied. The results confirmed the hypotheses of the study, adolescent perception of positive PP of communication, behavioral control and autonomy was negatively related to their A-Trait-State level, and their perception of negative PP of psychological control and imposition was positively related to A-Trait-State. The practical implications of the results were examined and suggestions for future research were made. |
