| الوصف: | The Palladian architectural tradition in Spain in the 17th-19th century is considered with emphasis on the buildings pertaining to the Spanish branch of the architectural direction that are little known to Russian scholars. The issue of cultural continuity and, at the same time, rivalry between Palladianism and Baroque and transformations of the style is touched upon. The buildings display references to and analogy with the projects of A. Palladio and his followers in other European countries. The evolution of the architectural movement and its significance in the European appropriation of Palladio’s legacy are considered in retrospect. |
