| الوصف: | This album was issued to hold promotional stickers or collecting cards distributed in packages of Casino brand chocolate and other food products. Album text presents a fictional narrative following two children, Jojo and Louisette, as they travel through the post-independence continent of Africa, for which the many collecting cards serve as illustrative snapshots. The travels move generally clockwise around the continent, with the longest sections devoted to Chad, Kenya, Madagascar, South Africa, Congo-Léopoldville (Congo (Democratic Republic)), Congo (Brazzaville), Côte d'Ivoire, Morocco, and Algeria. The tone is that of a tourist travelogue, with a strongly instructive and paternalistic tone, and emphasis on the perceived strangeness of the customs encountered. The images, in brilliant color, concentrate on depictions of indigenous people, costumes, and traditions, as well as views of architecture, industry and wildlife. |
