| الوصف: | Edith May Somers Cocks was the grand daughter of the Rev. Henry Bromley Cocks, the first Curate of Christchurch, New Zealand 1862-1863, and the daughter of the Rev. Philip John Cocks and Mary Hannah (née Gebbie of Gebbie's Pass, Banks Peninsula) who like his father was also vicar of Sydenham 1907-1913. This book was written over thirty years earlier by E.M.S.C. of her 'childhood memories' and more important 'childhood impressions'. It tells of family life at St Saviour's and St. John's; a visit to Ballantyne's; her time at Miss Sander's, or Queen Philippa's, school (later to become Selwyn House) and Rangi-Ruru; her brothers at Christ's College; holidays at Rakaia Huts; Christchurch during World War I; and the following influenza epidemic.
