مستخلص: The development of the gravity recoverable gold test at McGill University has been a significant improvement in assessing the potential benefits of including a gravity separation stage in a gold recovery circuit. The application of the test and the interpretation of its results are first discussed before some practical aspects of the design of gravity separation flowsheets are considered. These are illustrated by reference to gravity separation in the St Ives, KCGM, Tamaldi and Goldex flowsheets.
