Geochemistry of gold deposits in the Abitibi greenstone belt.

التفاصيل البيبلوغرافية
العنوان: Geochemistry of gold deposits in the Abitibi greenstone belt.
بيانات النشر: Montreal Canadian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy 1983

نوع الوثيقة: Electronic Resource
مستخلص: The volume is in 5 sections, covering the metal inventory of lode gold deposits, a synthesis of data from deposits with a chemical sedimentary component, a synthesis of data from vein deposits, characteristics of the hydrothermal fluids and alteration - a summary of the geological evidence, and models. The deposits appear to form during the discharge of low-Cl, CO2-rich aqueous fluids of metamorphic origin, early on at the seafloor in a tensile crustal regime and later at depth in a compressive one. This outgassing of volatile-laden volcanic sequences under conditions of burial and crustal heating is part of a hydration-dehydration cycle that proceeds continuously during development of the greenstone belt. It is suggested that rift environments with high heat fluxes are appropriate for efficient gold concentration. The book concludes with a list of over 200 references.
