| مستخلص: | Management effectiveness is a methodological approach that uses indicators for the purpose of examining existing gaps and needs in the management of protected areas. This paper presents its application in six urban nature reserves of Santa Cruz (Patagonia, Argentina) with the addition of a new field of analysis, called Responsible Tourism, which allowed us to identified the strengths and weaknesses in this activity, and provide recommendations. The best values were found in Laguna Nimez reserve, located in the international tourist center of El Calafate, and in Urban Coastal Reserve Rio Gallegos. They accounted Satisfactory Management level. This implies that they are reaching their objectives of creation, although some adjustments or modifications are required to achieve optimal management. In tourism management, L. Nimez had the highest effectiveness (84%); however, the low value of the variable "carrying capacity", indicates a priority to consider in management to avoid overloads and keep good state of conservation to the ecosystem. La efectividad de manejo es un procedimiento metodológico que utiliza indicadores, a los efectos de examinar vacíos existentes y necesidades de mejora en la gestión de las áreas protegidas. Este trabajo presenta su aplicación en seis Reservas Naturales Urbanas de Santa Cruz (Patagonia, Argentina), con la incorporación de un nuevo ámbito de análisis denominado Turismo Responsable, que permite identificar las fortalezas y debilidades en esta actividad y brindar recomendaciones. Los mejores valores fueron los de la reserva Laguna Nimez, ubicada en el centro turístico internacional de El Calafate, y la Reserva Costera Urbana de Río Gallegos, correspondiéndoles un nivel de Manejo Satisfactorio. Ello implica que están cumpliendo con sus objetivos de creación, si bien se requieren algunos ajustes o modificaciones para alcanzar el manejo óptimo. En la gestión turística, L. Nimez presentó la efectividad más elevada (84%), no obstante, se destaca el bajo valor de la variable “Capacidad de carga”, lo cual indica una de las prioridades a considerar en su manejo, a fin de evitar sobrecargas y mantener en buenas condiciones de conservación al ecosistema. |
