| الوصف: | En 2002, une forte crue du Gardon a dégagé sur sa rive droite, près du Pont du Gard, diverses traces rupestres inédites qui éclairent d'un jour nouveau certains aspects de son chantier de constructioin. Plusieurs engins ont été ainsi localisés : un engin de halage installé à 200 m en aval pour tirer les radeaux d'une rive à l'autre, un puissant cabestan implanté à 48,6 m de l'aqueduc, un mât de charge à l'aplomb de la façade amont de la cinquième arche, signalé par un large trou cylindrique et des ancrages de haubans sur le sol. Des aménagements d'implantation de cette même arche ainsi que les traces d'appui du cintre de pose de la dernière arche rive droite de la série médiane ont été également étudiés. In 2002, a huge swelling of the Gardon next to the Pont du Gard cleared out a lot of unknown rocky traces on the right bank of the river. They bring a new light to some aspects of the buiding site of the Pont du Gard. Several machines were located : a tow machine settled 200 m downstream to tow rafts from one bank to the other, a mighty capstan settled 48,6 m from the aqueduct, a derrick at the basis of the upstream façade of the fith arch, indicated by a huge cylindric pit and the anchoring of the guy ropes on the ground. Fittings for the implatation of the same arch and the marks of the supports of the laying wooden arch of the last arch of the middle set have also been studied. |
