| الوصف: | O território Paresi, no Centro-Oeste brasileiro, se modificou profundamente a partir da intensificação de suas relações com os não-índios, na segunda metade do século XX, como parte das ações para ocupar este imenso “espaço vazio”. Procurou-se, primeiramente, estabelecer como era o território Paresi no início do século XX e como este território foi parcialmente desarticulado devido às relações estabelecidas com as frentes extrativistas e as Linhas Telegráficas. A partir da década de 60, com os projetos de desenvolvimento e ocupação governamentais, ampliou-se a presença de atores não-índios na Chapada dos Parecis. Ocorreu, a partir daí, a imposição de territorialidades baseadas na linearidade dos limites e na exclusividade do uso dos recursos. Ações e acontecimentos em escalas distintas foram delineando uma nova territorialidade Paresi, em contraponto a dos atores não-índios, baseada na presença de limites lineares e definida com base em uma série de ações legais estranhas aos povos indígenas. The Paresi territory, in central-western Brazil, changed after the intensification of their interaction with non-indigenous people as of the second half of the twentieth century, as part of attempts to occupy this vast "empty space". Initially, the nature and extent of Paresi territory at the beginning of the twentieth century was defined and how this territory was partially disrupted as a result of interactions with groups engaged in extracting natural resources and erecting telegraph lines. As of the 1960s, when government development and occupation projects were introduced, an increasing number of non-indigenous people were drawn to the Parecis plateau. From then on, territorialities were imposed that were based on linear boundaries and the exclusive use of the resources within. Actions and events on different scales gradually delineated a new Paresi territoriality, set in contrast against that of the non-indigenous actors, and also based on linear boundaries and defined by a series of legal procedures that were unfamiliar to the indigenous peoples. |
