| الوصف: | L’expansió agrària del segle XVIIIi es va manifestar, d’una banda, amb la introducció de nous conreus agraris i, de l’altra, amb l’extensió de l’agricultura en terrenys fins aleshores no dedicats a l’agricultura. A partir de l’estudi del Llibre Verd dels Feus del bisbe de Girona (1362-1371), juntament amb notícies procedents dels arxius senyorials i episcopals, es pot constatar com el creixement agrari dels segles XIII i XIV va tenir unes manifestacions similars a les de l’època moderna. L’objectiu de la present contribució és definir amb major precisió, per al conjunt del bisbat de Girona, les formes del creixement medieval i la naturalesa dels conflictes que va generar l’explotació de les terres novals, per un costat, i la introducció dels conreus tintoris —safrà, pastell, roja, roldor— i d’un cereal poc conegut —el gruany—, per l’altre Agricultural growth in the eighteenth century came about by the introduction of new crops and also by the expansion of agriculture in previously uncultivated areas. In the “Green Book of Fiefs”, a study written for the bishop of Girona in 1362-1371, and in other documents from the manorial and episcopal archives, there is evidence of agricultural growth in the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries with similar characteristics to that of the Modern era. The purpose of this article is to define more precisely, for the entire bishopric of Girona, the forms of agricultural growth that occurred in the Middle Ages, and the nature of conflicts that led to the cultivation of newly broken fields (novalia) and the introduction of new crops, such as saffron, common madder, redoul, woad, and a cereal known as gruanum.
