| الوصف: | Le Terme del Foro di Augusta Praetoria hanno restituito, durante quasi un secolo di campagne di scavo, migliaia di reperti testimoni della vita e delle fasi di trasformazione dell’edificio. Tra questi manufatti spiccano centinaia di frammenti architettonici, strutturali e decorativi. Molte lastre e partiture architettoniche modanate, realizzate in Bardiglio (un litotipo locale usato soprattutto a scopo ornamentale) e in marmi bianchi e venati, sono caratterizzate da segni iscritti sulle superfici a vista: confronti con contesti simili sembrano far prevalere l’ipotesi che si tratti di sigle funzionali ad operazioni di cantiere e manutenzione. During almost one century of excavations at the Terme del Foro of Augusta Praetoria, archaeologists found thousands of artifacts, proofs of the roman building’s life and his transformations. Hundreds of architectural fragments, both structural and decorative, stand out among these items. Many slabs and moulded frames made of Bardiglio (a local lithic type, especially used for ornamental purposes) and of white and veined marbles, are marked by symbols engraved on the displayed surfaces: comparison with similar contexts suggests the hypothesis of signs functional to maintenance activities. |
