| الوصف: | Juan Rof Carballo’s work became a milestone in the redefinition of medicine as an art that integrates a more technical part, with ano- ther that expects, in the words of Rof himself, to give the floor to the patients. The introduction of his work allows us to go in depth into the evidences that he tried to find out about the existence of a neu- roanatomical and neurophysiological substrate of emotion, whose existence he always defended, basing it on the scientific knowledge from the era. He introduced the concept of ‘warp’ like a transaction established between the maternal figure and the newborn, in such a way that both components are required, to protect and nourish the newborn on the one hand, and for the adult to transmit genes and life patterns on the other hand. The concept of ‘warp’ relates closely the process of brain development and constitution of the affective relationship between the mother and the child, so that getting sick from a psychosomatical disease will depend on the coordination established between all the participating factors, the activation of development genes, the contractual relationship and the neuroendocrine adjustment La obra de Juan Rof Carballo marcó un hito en la redefinición de la medicina como el arte que integra una parte más técnica, con otra que pretende, en palabras del propio Rof, otorgar la palabra a los pacientes. Una introducción a la ingente obra del maestro Rof permite adentrarse en las evidencias que intentó encontrar sobre la existencia de un sustrato neuroanatómico y neurofisiológico de la emoción, cuya existencia siempre defendió, y lo hizo basándose en los conocimientos científicos de la época. Introdujo el concepto de urdimbre como una transacción que se establece entre la figura materna y el recién nacido, de modo que los dos componentes de la misma son la necesidad de amparo y alimento del recién nacido, por una parte, y la propia necesidad del adulto de transmitir genes y pautas de vida, como el segundo de los componentes. El concepto de la urdimbre relaciona estrechamente el proceso de formación cerebral y el de constitución de la relación afectiva madre-hijo, en consecuencia el enfermar psicosomático va a depender de la coor- dinación que se establezca entre todos los factores participantes, la activación de genes del desarrollo, la relación transaccional y la regulación neuroendocrina |
