| الوصف: | Le présent article introduit à l’ensemble du dossier « De l’Église aux Églises: réflexions sur le schisme aux temps modernes » composé de huit contributions. Dans une première partie, il établit les caractères du schisme selon la doctrine théologique et juridique de l’Église romaine. Ensuite, il expose les enjeux historiographiques d’une relecture de l’âge confessionnel en Europe puis en Orient, sous l’angle du schisme. This article introduces to the whole study entitled « From the Church to the Churches : reflections on the Schism in early modern times » made up of eight contributions. In the first part, it sets out the characteristics of the Schism with reference to the theological and legal doctrine of the Roman Church. It also outlines the historiographical issues of a re-reading of the confessional age in Europe and in the East, with regards to the Schism. |
