| الوصف: | Les arts traditionnels Māori sont étroitement liés à la nature ce qui explique qu’ils fascinent les Européens En ce sens, ils s’alignent pleinement sur un double processus de naturalisation, à la fois dans leur inspiration et dans leur dimension spectaculaire, à laquelle s’ajoute une autre dimension, en rapport avec leur statut de trésor culturel (taonga). Les artistes contemporains puisent dans cette tradition pour répondre aux questionnements de leur temps, liés à la nation biculturelle et son rapport à l’histoire coloniale, à l’éthique de l’appropriation culturelle, la consommation dans le monde globalisé… Le motif naturaliste de la spirale dans ses différents avatars – koru (la forme de base de la spirale), kowhaiwhai (peintures), moko (tatouages) – sera abordé pour analyser ces processus. Die traditionellen Māori-Künste sind eng mit der Natur verbunden und üben auf Europäer eine große Faszination aus; in diesem Sinne sind sie voll und ganz auf einen doppelten Prozess der Naturalisierung ausgerichtet, sowohl was ihre Inspiration als auch ihre spektakuläre Dimension angeht, zu der noch eine weitere Dimension hinzukommt, die mit ihrem Status als Kulturgut (taonga) zusammenhängt. Die zeitgenössischen Künstler greifen auf diese Tradition zurück, um die Fragen ihrer Zeit zu beantworten, die mit der bikulturellen Nation und ihrer Beziehung zur Kolonialgeschichte, mit ethischen Fragen der kulturellen Aneignung und mit dem Konsum in der globalisierten Welt zusammenhängen… Das naturalistische Motiv der Spirale in seinen verschiedenen Ausprägungen – koru (die Grundform der Spirale), kowhaiwhai (Gemälde) sowie moko (Tätowierungen) – wird hier herangezogen, um diese Prozesse zu analysieren. Traditional Māori arts are closely linked to nature, which accounts for the fascination they inspire among Europeans; in this sense, they are fully aligned with a double process of naturalisation, both in their inspiration and in their spectacular dimension, to which is added another dimension, in relation to their status as a cultural treasure (taonga). Contemporary artists draw on this tradition to answer the questions of their time, linked to their bicultural nation and its relationship to colonial history, to the ethics of cultural appropriation, to consumption in the globalised world… This paper examines the naturalist motif of the spiral in its different avatars—koru (the basic form of the spiral), kowhaiwhai (paintings), moko (tattoos)—to analyse these processes. |
