| الوصف: | Un nombre croissant de musicologues s’intéresse aujourd’hui aux outils d’analyse spectrale pour étudier l’interprétation vocale. Permettant une visualisation acoustique du son, ces outils rendent possibles l’analyse et l’objectivation de caractéristiques interprétatives longtemps considérées comme échappant à la théorisation : variations agogiques du rythme ou de la mélodie, timbre… Cependant, ce type d’échange entre musicologie et sciences exactes est souvent à sens unique : le musicologue exploite des logiciels à des fins musicologiques. L’expérience que nous allons présenter a la particularité de mettre en œuvre une collaboration simultanée entre chercheurs en traitement du signal et musicologues autour d’un même objectif : l’élaboration d’un système de synthèse du chant pouvant reproduire la diversité des « styles vocaux » interprétatifs. Elle se place à la convergence de deux champs de recherche autour de la voix chantée : recherches en informatique et traitement de signal sur la modélisation et la synthèse de la voix chantée, recherches en musicologie sur l’interprétation vocale et les styles interprétatifs dans la chanson populaire francophone. Cette approche donne, à travers la modélisation du style vocal d’Édith Piaf, un exemple de la manière dont deux disciplines peuvent collaborer fructueusement pour s’informer et s’enrichir mutuellement. Recently, a growing number of musicologists have been using the tools offered by spectrum analysis to study vocal performance. By presenting an acoustic visualization of sound, these tools enable the analysis and objectivation of vocal features long considered untheorizable, such as agogical variations of rhythm or melody, timbre, etc. However, this type of exchange between musicology and exact sciences is often unilateral: the musicologist exploits software for musicological purposes. The experience presented in this paper is a collaboration between researchers in signal processing and musicologists, aimed at the development of a system of singing voice synthesis that can reproduce a wide range of “vocal styles”. It is thus located at the intersection of two fields of study: the modeling and synthesis of the singing voice by computer research and signal processing, the musicological analysis of vocal performances and styles in chanson. Through the modeling of Edith Piaf’s vocal style, this approach provides an example of how two disciplines can collaborate successfully to inform and enrich each other. |
