| الوصف: | Depuis le début des années 2000, l’approche néolibérale s’impose dans la fabrique de l’espace urbain en Turquie, l’objectif fondamental étant de rendre la ville attractive à travers des projets de transformation qui, par ailleurs, favorisent la gentrification de nombreux quartiers. Sulukule en fait partie. Ce quartier, majoritairement peuplé de Roms, a subi un projet de transformation urbaine entre 2006 et 2011 provoquant le déplacement forcé et la dispersion de la population, ainsi que la destruction massive de logements. La valorisation foncière était l’objectif principal du projet à travers la gentrification du quartier, synonyme de l’arrivée de classes favorisées. Cet article propose un panorama social de ce quartier avant et après le projet et étudie les transformations et évolutions socio-économiques et culturelles observées dans la vie quotidienne en son sein. Since the beginning of the 2000s, the neoliberal approach has prevailed in the fabric of the urban space in Turkey, the main objective being to make the city attractive through transformation projects, which, moreover, favour the gentrification of many neighbourhoods. Sulukule is one of them. This neighborhood, mostly populated by Roma, underwent a project of urban transformation between 2006 and 2011 causing the forced displacement and the dispersion of the population, as well as the massive destruction of houses. The valorization of land was the main objective of the project through the transformation of the neighbourhood, ensuring the arrival of high-income classes. This article proposes a social panorama of this neighbourhood before and after the project and studies the transformations and socio-economic and cultural changes observed in the daily life within it. |
