| الوصف: | Cet article dresse un bilan des évolutions historiographiques de l’étude des « vieilles colonies » transformées en départements d’outre-mer (Dom) en 1946. Il montre que pendant longtemps l’écriture de l’histoire de ces territoires n’a pas été l’apanage des historiens. Une première génération d’historiens professionnels a néanmoins commencé à poser, à partir des années 1960, les fondements d’une historiographie, parallèlement à l’installation sur place des premières structures universitaires dans le domaine des sciences humaines. Depuis lors, l’histoire de ces territoires ne cesse de s’enrichir. Les thèses les plus récentes proposent des recherches qui décloisonnent l’objet au moyen d’une histoire globale et connectée faisant la part belle aux approches transversales et comparatistes. Le champ des investigations demeure très ouvert et les sources largement accessibles et inédites. This article surveys historiographical developments in the study of the “old colonies” that were transformed into overseas departments (Dom) in 1946. For a long time, writing the history of these territories was not the preserve of historians. Starting in the 1960s, a first generation of professional historians nevertheless began to lay the foundations of a historiography in tandem with the establishment in these places of the first academic structures in the human sciences. Since then, the history of these territories has been steadily enriched. The most recent doctoral dissertations present research that decompartmentalizes the object by way of a global and connected history, with a strong emphasis on transversal and comparative approaches. This field of research very much remains open, its sources widely accessible and hitherto unexplored. |
