| الوصف: | Our initial objective is to evaluate the state of urbanisation in Central and Eastern Africa and its evolution since the 1960s, by geographically locating the multiplication of the number of agglomerations of more than 10,000 inhabitants and their population growth. Surprisingly, the data produced lead us to re-examine the historical relationship between agricultural activities and urban growth by crossing urban locations and agricultural and non-agricultural land use. The forms and formations of the population are then linked to successive housing patterns that can fade, emerge, combine and lead to the recognition of differentiated regional territories. L’objectif initial de l’étude présentée ici était l’évaluation de l’état de l’urbanisation en Afrique centrale et orientale et son évolution depuis les années 1960. Il s’agissait de situer géographiquement la multiplication du nombre des agglomérations de plus de 10 000 habitants et leur croissance démographique. La création de ces données et leur analyse nous conduit à réinterroger la relation séculaire entre activités agricoles et croissance des villes en croisant localisations urbaines et occupation agricole et non agricole du sol. Les formes et formations du peuplement apparaissent alors liées à des logiques d’habitation successives qui peuvent s’effacer, émerger, se combiner et conduire à la reconnaissance de territoires régionaux différenciés. Cet article les met en évidence à partir d’un support cartographique détaillé. |
