| الوصف: | German television series have only recently caught up with the new international standards of serial narration in this “Golden Age” of television. One of the most prestigious – and most expensive – new television series is Babylon Berlin (2017–). As an adaptation of Volker Kutscher’s historical detective novels, Babylon Berlin challenges conventional notions of adaptation, as it crosses the border between reduction and expansion, localisation and globalisation. My analysis of seasons one and two of Babylon Berlin will demonstrate the importance of world building in recent serial adaptation. In particular, I will focus on how the series explores the political storyworld, analysing the re-creation of historical and social spaces in Berlin in 1929 and their connection to the characters. Ce n'est que récemment que les séries télévisées allemandes ont intégré les nouvelles normes internationales en matière de narration sérielle dans cet "âge d'or" de la télévision. L'une des nouvelles séries télévisées les plus prestigieuses - et les plus coûteuses - est Babylon Berlin (2017-). Cette série qui est une adaptation des romans policiers historiques de Volker Kutscher, remet en question les notions conventionnelles d'adaptation, car elle franchit la frontière entre réduction et expansion, localisation et mondialisation. Mon analyse des saisons 1 et 2 de Babylon Berlin démontrera l'importance de la construction du monde dans les adaptations récentes de séries. Je me concentrerai plus particulièrement, sur la façon dont la série explore le monde narratif politique, en analysant la recréation des espaces historiques et sociaux du Berlin de 1929 et leur lien avec les personnages. |
