| الوصف: | L’étude porte sur l’évaluation de la qualité environnementale par des habitants sollicités à l’échelle résidentielle dans trois contextes urbains – à Paris, Marseille et Toulouse – retenus pour leur mixité sociale et typo-morphologique ainsi que pour leur exposition avérée à des nuisances. L’analyse qualitative repose sur 60 parcours commentés de résidents, suivis d’entretiens approfondis. À travers leur énonciation de la qualité environnementale, les habitants expriment une expertise fine qui reflète l’hétérogénéité des contextes socioterritoriaux. On observe d’une part différentes manières d’énoncer et de hiérarchiser les composantes de la qualité environnementale (bruit, pollution de l’air et climat urbain), et d’autre part des attitudes contrastées face aux nuisances (occultation, acceptation et engagement). Différents prismes (effet de lieu, fragmentation urbaine, satisfaction résidentielle, attachement, rapports sociaux) infléchissent les perceptions, les besoins et les attentes des habitants en matière de qualité du cadre de vie et d’urbanité. Ils produisent un « effet de quartz » que les politiques de requalification environnementale devraient prendre en compte en complément d’une évaluation des nuisances fondée sur la mesure. The study is focused on the appraisal of the environmental quality by the inhabitants, surveyed at residential scale in three urban contexts – in Paris, Marseille and Toulouse – chosen for their social and typomorphological mixing and for their known exposure to annoyances. The qualitative analysis is based on 60 tours commented on by residents, followed by in-depth interviews. On the basis of their definition of the environmental quality, the inhabitants express a refined expertise which reflects the heterogeneity of the socio-territorial context. One may observe on the one hand different ways of defining and ranking the components of the environmental quality (noise, air pollution and urban climate), and on the other hand contrasting attitudes with regard to disamenities (concealment, acceptance and commitment). Different prisms (effect of place, urban fragmentation, residential satisfaction, attachment, social relations) slant the perceptions, needs and expectations of the inhabitants, with regard to the liveability and urban quality of life. They produce a ‘quartz effect’ that environmental redevelopment policy should take into account, in parallel with an assessment of disamenities based on measurement. |
