| الوصف: | Cette contribution confronte deux chronologies : celle des transitions funéraires et celle des révolutions médicales. Chacun de ces processus entraîne des pratiques autour du corps mort généralement considérées comme conflictuelles. On se concentrera ici sur la façon dont l’avènement de la médecine moderne s’articule avec la transition funéraire qui s’amorce aux XVIIIe et XIXe siècles pour contextualiser, nuancer mais aussi préciser les fronts de conflit, notamment autour du traitement des cadavres. This paper confronts two chronologies: that of the funeral transitions and that of the medical revolutions. Each of these processes entails practices around the dead body that are generally considered to be conflicting. We will focus here on the way in which the advent of modern medicine articulates with the funerary transition that began in the 18th and 19th centuries, to contextualize, nuance, and specify the fronts of conflict, particularly around the treatment of corpses. |
