| الوصف: | La perception par les citoyens de la présence des institutions internationales à Bruxelles reste sous-étudiée. Notre étude contribue à combler ce manque via un sondage mené sur un échantillon représentatif de Bruxellois en septembre 2021. L’objectif est d’analyser les représentations et pratiques de la population locale à l’égard des institutions internationales. Nos données montrent qu’une évaluation positive est faite des apports de ces dernières en matière d’économie, d’emploi, de biens publics, d’identité et de culture. Ces bénéfices s’accompagnent néanmoins de coûts perçus en termes de risques terroristes, d'intégration d'une immigration jugée excessive et d’aliénation identitaire. En conclusion, le monde des institutions internationales semble coexister et interagir avec celui des Bruxellois ordinaires dans une relation d’acceptation empreinte de distance et d’indifférence. De perceptie van de burger over de aanwezigheid van de internationale instellingen in Brussel is een thema dat nog altijd te weinig bestudeerd wordt. Onze studie wil dit tekort aan onderzoek helpen wegwerken door middel van een opiniepeiling die in september 2021 werd uitgevoerd bij een representatieve steekproef van Brusselaars. Het doel is om de voorstellingen en gewoonten van de lokale bevolking ten aanzien van de internationale instellingen te analyseren. Uit onze data blijkt dat de inbreng van deze instellingen op het vlak van economie, werkgelegenheid, openbare goederen, identiteit en cultuur als positief wordt beschouwd. Deze voordelen gaan echter gepaard met een aantal elementen die als minpunten worden ervaren op het gebied van terroristische risico’s, de integratie van een als overmatig beschouwde immigratie en identiteitsverlies. Kortom, de wereld van de internationale instellingen en die van de gewone Brusselaars lijken naast elkaar te bestaan en met elkaar te interageren in een relatie van aanvaarding die wordt gekenmerkt door afstand en onverschilligheid. Citizens' perception of the presence of international institutions in Brussels remains understudied. Our study contributes to filling this gap through a survey conducted with a representative sample of Brussels residents in September 2021. The objective is to analyse the representations and practices of the local population with respect to international institutions. Our data show that there is a positive assessment of their contributions to the economy, employment, public goods, identity and culture. These benefits are nevertheless accompanied by perceived disadvantages as regards terrorist risks, integration of immigration deemed excessive and alienation in terms of identity. In conclusion, the world of international institutions seems to coexist and interact with that of ordinary Brussels residents in a relationship of acceptance marked by distance and indifference. |
